Democracy Park & Jungang Park

Democracy Park & Jungang Park These two parks are located across from each other. The Democracy Park was built to commemorate the democratic movements of the past. The Memorial Hall for Busan Resistance for Democracy is located in this park. Jungang Park was built on an area of Daecheongsan Mountain which was a shantytown in the past. A 70-meter-high monument to fallen heroes i s located in this park. These two parks are better known by their old name of Daecheong Park

40 Steps Cultural Tour Street

40 Steps Cultural Tour Street This is a unique street with its 40 steps representing 40 different themes reflecting the eventful lives of people during the Korean War. Sculptures have been installed on the street, which depict the joys and sorrows of the refugees during the War. The 40 Steps Cultural Center is also on this street, which became famous as the locale for the movie Have No Mercy

BUSAN Modern History Museum

BUSAN Modern History Museum This was the building of the Busan Branch of the Oriental Development Company, an organization established by Japan to exploit Korea during the Japanese occupation. Re-born as a museum, it is used as an educational space for teaching about the modern history of Korea, the foreign invasions and their exploitative practices
