'G-Star 2019', the largest global game exhibition in Korea, will be held at BEXCO from November 14th to 17th. G-Star 2019 will be held as an integrated game culture festival, encompassing diversified game exhibitions, including online and mobile arcades, etc., international game conference (G-CON), along with experiential events, a game investment market, a gaming industry job fair, cosplay awards, and an eSports competition, etc.
Numerous domestic and overseas corporations, including Super Cell, Pearl Abyss, Net Marble, Krafton, Gravity, X.D. Global, MiHoYo and IGG, etc. will participate at the BTC Pavilion, while the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), Smile Gate and Line Games, etc. will participate at the BTB Pavilion. In addition, the overseas national pavilion (joint pavilion) will be operated separately. The main sponsor of G-Star 2019 was selected as Super Cell, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, for being loved throughout the world for their games ‘Brawl Stars’ and ‘Clash Royale’. The selection of an overseas corporation as the main sponsor for 2 years in a row beginning last year is evidence of the globally heightened status of G-Star.
In the international game conference, ‘G-CON 2019’, highly reputed game developers and experts will participate as lecturers to convey their in depth thoughts on recent trends in blockchain, cloud computing, indie-games, platforms and IP, etc. In particular, it is expected to be the best opportunity to personally meet the best speakers in their relevant fields, including Jenova Chen, representative of ‘thatgamecompany’, and Igarashi Koji, representative of ‘Arts Play’, among others.
The ‘Game Industry Job Fair’ provides practical information regarding employment by linking persons in charge of personnel management in game related companies with job seekers and will be held in the conference room on the 1st floor of Exhibition Hall No. 2 at BEXCO on November 16. During this job fair, when job seekers personally submit applications through the G-Star Website, the companies will review the applications and provide opportunities for AI to interview prospective candidates. In addition, a booth for persons in charge of personnel management to interview job seekers will also be operated on-site. The ‘2019 Korea Game Awards’ will be held in the Culture Hall on the 9th floor of the Shinsegae Department Store in Centum City on the 13th. Awards in a total of 22 areas in 15 divisions, including the main award and popular game award, will be given to those selected among the games produced and launched in Korea over the past year.
In addition, plans are being made to enable an even greater number of audience members to enjoy G-Star by executing game experiencing events through the extensive utilization of the outdoor areas at BEXCO, as well as in other venues such as the event square at Haeundae Beach, Eurasia Platform at Busan Station and Busan Citizen’s Park. The event will be substantially more diversified than last year due to the increased participation of new companies, as well as numerous overseas companies. Moreover, it is anticipated that visitors will have more diversified experiences than before through the utilization of the outdoor area for exhibition space, which would have otherwise been reduced due to the nearby ASEAN Summit Meeting.
