A Story Festival Which Begins in the Alleyway Bosu-dong Book Street Cultural Events

Formed during the Korean War, Bosu-dong Book Street is a venue that has precisely shadowed the modern history of Korea. As a space that has shared in many historical events and sufferings, including the Korean War and being the only remaining book street in South Korea, the book street holds an annual event that celebrates books and the space. This year, the book street is preparing an event in partnership with its visitors.

A number of programs are in the making for the tours and participation by visitors to Bosu-dong Book Street. ‘Bosun-dong Book Street Cosplay“ which lets participants meet the fictional characters, receive a gift, and pose together for a photo. ‘Old Books Exhibition’ lets people catch a glimpse of fun hidden in tales by displaying the old ttakjibon copies which were published during the Period of Japanese Occupation. ‘Book Art Exhibition’ will show beautiful books, including those editions with artistic binding. ‘Book Street Busking’ will present visitors with busking not bound by music, but comprising other genres like poetry reading, fiction reading, dance, mime, and story-telling. And the ‘Book Concert’, in which Kim Young-ha, the hot fiction writer will be the guest of honor.
